PASSIONATE ABOUT DANCE?

At the Dance Department, passion becomes practice, curiosity becomes movement, and artistic ambition is given space to grow. Here, young dancers come together to train, explore and challenge themselves with dedication and artistic ambition. If you are drawn to dance not only as movement, but as an art form, a way of thinking, creating and expressing yourself, DTA DANCE is the place to take your next step.

Our aim is to develop independent, creative, technically skilled, reflective and curious young dancers who are confident in themselves and have the courage to pursue their ambitions for the future. If your goal is to continue your education as a professional dancer, the Dance Department provides an excellent foundation for applying to a bachelor’s degree programme in contemporary dance.

It is also an essential part of the DTA experience that you have an interest in exploring your passion in collaboration with students from the other departments at the Danish Talent Academy, allowing you to broaden your artistic practice and discover new perspectives.

Contemporary Dance. Choreography. Ballet. Improvisation.

As a student at the Dance Department, you become part of a vibrant and professional environment where you meet professional artists, dancers and choreographers – as well as other young people who share your passion for dance.

Through a variety of movement languages and artistic approaches, you will be challenged to become more aware of the possibilities within the world of dance and to move closer to developing your own artistic voice.

Teaching is focused and ambitious and follows a progressive structure, ensuring continuous development throughout your time at the department. We place particular emphasis on a number of core subjects designed to prepare and support students who aspire to pursue further professional dance training across Europe.

Every student is given the opportunity to develop artistically, personally and socially through daily dance classes, study trips, performances and interdisciplinary projects.

Partnerships at the Dance Department

Through our partnerships, the Danish Talent Academy aims to strengthen connections across the Danish dance community – across age groups, levels, organizations and geographical regions.

Holstebro Dance Company

We are fortunate to have the internationally renowned Holstebro Dance Company as both our close collaborator and our neighbor. This unique proximity gives our students the opportunity to meet and train with professional dancers from the company and to experience their work on stage. Through this ongoing exchange, students gain valuable insight into professional dance practice and the artistic life of a contemporary dance company.

Teaching

Our students are taught by a dedicated team of experienced dance professionals across contemporary dance, choreography, ballet and improvisation. Together, they create a strong and inspiring learning environment that supports both technical development and artistic exploration.

Throughout the year, we also invite guest choreographers and dance artists to work with our students. Each brings their own artistic voice, methods and perspectives, exposing the students to a broad range of approaches to movement, choreography and creative practice.
